Al-Ahmadi

Al Ahmadi (Arabic: الأحمدي‎‎) is a town founded in 1946 with the discovery of oil there, located in Al Ahmadi Governorate, Kuwait. Al Ahmadi is a district located in the south of the country. It contains the headquarters for the Kuwait Oil Company. Al Ahmadi in Kuwait is famous for its oil refineries and peaceful green surroundings. The headquarters of Kuwait National Petroleum Company is in Al Ahmadi. Locally, Al Ahmadi is called the 'home of KOC' because of the large number of Kuwait Oil Company oil refineries located here. Also, Ahmadi is known for its beautiful parks and it is also the greenest place in Kuwait. More info click here

Direction:

Get on the 30 or the 40 and take the 212 road west (away from the sea) until you pass the KNPC HQ building on your left hand side, take a U turn at the traffic lights, come back in the opposite direction and take the first right. Terrains

The terrain is fairly mixed, around half and half desert and tarmac, with a variety of scenery. The terrain will be easy in parts and slightly less so in others, and may  not be suitable for those who are easily discomfited. There is quite a high risk of flat tyres for the unprepared.  We won’t be out in the wilds, so most facilities will be available at some point, including refreshments.

RIDING:

As usual, Anthony led us to another exploratory ride in Al-Ahmadi. First thing he will record attendance and give some briefing on this riding.

We crossed the road and started off-road chapter for about 7km. Mostly they are compacted compound.

We stopped for awhile, Robin's got flat tire. He put some magic aerosol "Fix-a-flat". Click here.

We crossed the road (Road 20) in Dahar.

Camel Break. Election in Kuwait will come soon, end of this month (26th Nov 2016). You can see many big tents on open area here for election campaign. Their supporter will be served meals (camel meat).

On the way back, green parks.

When passing the parks, I heard athan from nearby masjid (mosque). So Khaled and I, diverted our route to the masjid for Friday Prayer and other continued.

After solat, i continued my journey along to our starting point at KNPC's Headquarter.

They arrived at RV about 10 minutes earlier than me (around 12 o'clock).

I looking forward for our next ride.
