Sulaibiya

Sulaibiya is a small town in Al Jahra Governorate, Kuwait. It holds the record for the highest temperature in Asia and third highest in the world. 

Sulaibiya has two Industrial Areas containing several construction materials industries and a Residential Area consisting of 10 blocks. Towards the end of Sulaibiya you approach Sulabikat which is closer to the Kuwaiti grand cemetery.

Sulaibikhat

Sulaibikhat is a small area north of Kuwait City near Doha, Kuwait. Sulaibikhat has four residential blocks. 

A British camp was built in Sulaibikhat during the British mandate, and consisted of approximately 200 bungalow-style residential units, contained within a fenced area on the Persian Gulf. 

After being deserted by the British at the end of the British mandate in 1961, the camp was occupied by doctors and pharmacists working for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health. That continued to be the case until 1980, when the residents were relocated and the camp was demolished.

Go west along the Sixth Ring Road past 360 Mall, Farwaniya, the big Stadium etc. Keep a look out for the 25km green distance marker in the centre of the road 

After turning right into an open area, and after a short distance, you will come to a roundabout. Turn left her, go about 100m and park on the right.

RIDING TIME:

As usual, start with route briefing and attendance. Today, very cool, about 9 - 10 degree C. I forgot to bring my jacket. Everyone brought their jacket.

We passed by the local housing area near to farms (this time anti-clockwise).

In the early cool morning, nobody at outside accept us.

We headed to Sulaibikhat beach through Kuwaiti Grand Cemetery (Sunni Cemetery).

Anthony and Bobak told about the history of cemetery area. Actually, there are 2 cemeteries here; Sunni and Jaafari (Shaiite) was spilt by Khalaf Ahmar Road

We got permission from security to use the cementery road to the beach.

Falafel is a common dish eaten throughout the Middle East, a deep-fried ball or patty made from ground chickpeas, fava beans, or both and commonly served in a pita, which acts as a pocket, or wrapped in a flatbread known as taboon; "falafel" also frequently refers to a wrapped sandwich that is prepared in this way.

Bobak told that the price of Falafel, bread and some Arab foods have been subsidized by Kuwaiti Government. No wonder the price of falafel only 100 fils.

b. Coffee Break:

We stopped at McD to have hot coffee.

Bobak got a flat tire. We stopped for awhile to help him change the new inner tube.

I left the group earlier to perform friday's prayer at nearby Masjid (about 800m from RV)
